Visa instructions for Nepali families with children holding American passport holders (and other nationalities)

We suggest that you get a visa on arrival at the Kathmandu airport.  Quick summary:

  • American and Canadian passport holders are required to have a visa
  • Visas for a single entry visa for a period of up to two months costs USD 30.  Multiple entry visas cost USD 80 for two months
  • For tourists visiting for less than 3 days, the visa is free. 
  • Children under the age of ten get a free visa, but are required to have a visa.
